Standing in line on release date

Hi there!

I'm the mom of a small boy on the cusp of not beleiving in Santa Clause. All he asked for this year in his note to Santa was the Wii, so I dutifully went to the FYE and put in a pre-order months ago. I spoke to the manager there this week and she said of the 300 plus pre-orders they had, they received only ONE unit! So it appears I need to stand in line on the 19th! Does anyone have any idea just which store I should stake out? Wal Mart opens at 7am and Best Buy at 10am. I am willing to stand there from 4-5am onward, so which store would I most likely be able to get the wii? Anyone have any 360 experience to relate from last year?
Many Thanks
Suzy

re: Standing in line on release date

Well you can always try online, on release date. But I personally ruled out best buy because thats where everyone is going. Targets a good choice if you look up how many wiis are in your area. Then theres Sam's Club, which doesnt screw you over with bundles like EBgames will. Speaking of ebgames preorder goes on sale tomorrow. Good luck! I hope your son gets his wii!

re: Standing in line on release date

I don't know where you are located, but in my area for the release of the PS3 tomorrow, people have been camping out for about 4 or five days in tents in front of the Best Buy, Circuit City, and even the WalMart to snag a spot at the 28 or so units each store is supposed to receive. I don't know how many will camp for the Wii or how many units the stores will get, but from what I have heard, supplies are very limited and many stores presold their expected shipments. I wish you luck. I am in the same boat.
