Battalion Wars 2, or ingeniously named BWii, is Kuju Entertainment's baby that takes combat out of this world, but the way they showcase gameplay footage is definitely down-to-earth. In fact, we've found a wonderfully sought-after piece of viewing goodness on a mere banner which directs us to Kuju London's website.

Beggars can't be choosers, right? Just look closely and you'll get a good glimpse on how the epic battles will look like. Quality is undeniably poor, but it should give tactical action fans on the Wii an adrenaline rush.

Rumor has it that the game's release has been delayed to October 29 from September 24. Regardless, our hands have been itching for BWii since the announcement that the classic GameCube title will get a sequel. For now, just check out the gameplay "video" by clicking on the Read link below.

When Electronic Arts said they've upped the ante on Need for Speed ProStreet (PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PSP, PS2), they definitely weren't kidding. While they've spun developer interview after developer interview explaining why Need for Speed was being redefined for a more hardcore audience, those interested in what EA Black Box was offering waited quietly for an up-close and personal look, taste and feel.

But wait no longer, because from Deutsch site (Netherlands) Game1, we've watched an in-game gameplay demonstration of Need for Speed ProStreet on what appears to be an updated version of the circuit race (or URL) and found our eyes momentarily glued to the screens in awe. That much detail (including damage and asphalt grain) with an almost unflinching framerate was dumbfounding - at the least.

Without further adieu, though, we'll let you check out the three-minute long gameplay video. Downtown Japan, here we come a-driftin'!

It's always interesting to find out how remakes of classic games come about. Apparently, we're not the only ones who feel that way because that's precisely the topic of the second post in the Alien Syndrome development blog.

Totally Games approached SEGA suggesting a remake of Alien Syndrome for both the PlayStation Portable and the Nintendo Wii, adding that they wanted to make a totally new game based on that franchise for the PSP and Wii. SEGA approved their request and as soon as the initial pre-production milestones were met they began development of the game.

The developers started out with a concept: big meaty levels where players could sink their teeth into the game and play for as long or as short as they wanted. They made it clear that they didn't want just another RPG game that was too heavy on action and not enough role playing. So here is the skinny on the development the company has done on both versions of the game and how it comp...

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is exclusive to Nintendo consoles Wii and DS. While its predecessor only remained a Wii-exclusive for some time before eventually being ported to Xbox 360 and PC platforms, Ubisoft is now saying that Rabbids 2 will remain a Nintendo exclusive.

"We decided to go with the Wii for Rayman and forget all the other consoles, even as ports. They wouldn't be as interesting without the Wii controls," said Ubisoft Studio Director Xavier Poix to Nintendo Power during an interview with the mag's editor Chris Shepperd.

The editor, after seeing the initial build of the game, commented, "One of the big highlights from the first Rayman Raving Rabbids was the up-tempo rail-shooter levels that served as the final challenges of some stages. They're back in a big way - the new cinematic look to the levels is revolutionary".

It seems that all Rabbids fans are in for a treat with the sequel. Both versions of Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is expected t...

This is all unconfirmed for now, but a retailer is saying the Xbox 360 will get a $50 price cut come August 8. We haven't seen any pricing rumors since E3, where everyone thought the 360 was going to lower its price to match the PS3's "price cut," but that didn't happen. Peter Moore told us that they knew the PS3 was going to have a "price drop" for months now, which was obvious to them by looking at manufacturers and the supply chain. However, the "price drop" wasn't enough to jump-start the 360 camp into lowering theirs as well. Why now?
Here are some of the reasons we can think of.
• It's almost two years since the launch, which is about the time when most consoles make their first price drop.
• The 360 is selling fairly poorly, down 61% comparing the fourth fiscal quarter of 2006 to the fourth fiscal quarter of 2007 (Q4 fiscal is summertime for Microsoft).
• They want to differentiate themselves even more, pricewise, to the PS3. And lowe...

Nintendo has posted its first quarter profits revealing that their gains have increased fivefold. This new record has prompted the said company to raise its earnings forecast. This should come as no surprise considering that both the Nintendo DS and the Wii have been outselling any and all competitors in the console and handheld market.

The net income of Nintendo has climbed to 80.3 billion yen (about US 668 million) within a three-month span (ended on June 30). At this point last year, the company was brandishing just 15.6 billion yen.

This news was noted by stock traders as the company's shares rose as much as 0.9 percent after the earnings announcement, but fell 0.2 to 54,800 yen as of 2:33 p.m. in Osaka.

Nintendo is confident that this trend will continue with the company raising its full-year net income forecast to 245 billion yen. That's a full 41 more than its April projection with expected sales hitting 1.4 trillion yen.

This meteoric ...

Keiji Inafune was recently interviewed by Game Informer about his new position in Capcom and other videogaming-related issues. One of the most interesting highlights of the discussions is when the Mega Man-designer was asked about the possibility of having critically-acclaimed PS2 title Okami on Wii.

First and foremost, Keiji Inafune clarified that he is no longer directly making games. He was promoted to oversee all production at Capcom, meaning he has to make sure that games under them follow quality standards. Basically, his new job is to make sure that Capcom remains a force to reckon with in the gaming industry.

The discussion then shipped to Clover Studio and its departure from Capcom. Despite this, Inafune mentioned that Viewtiful Joe and Okami are still owned by Capcom so a sequel is possible should they want it. When asked if fans will ever have Okami on Wii, he answered,

Of course that's something that I've personally thought about, but it's e...
