Stop the presses, it's official: the highly-anticipated brawler for the Nintendo Wii that we've been writing updates about almost every weekday is going to land in North American shores come this December 3. This means it's only a few more months of waiting until we'll be able to brawl with our beloved Nintendo characters, as well as a certain gruff-voiced Snake in a sneaking suit. Awesome!
This comes directly from Reggie Fils-Aime himself, during the Nintendo E3 2007 Media Briefing taking place right this very minute. When did Smash Brothers Brawl pop up, you ask? About twenty-five minutes into the conference! Reggie's quote about Super Smash Brothers Brawl, verbatim:
The Smash community is stoked, but when? Not next year. Not next spring. I can announce today that Smash Bros. Brawl will launch in the Americas on December 3.
December 3. Mark that day on your calendars, brawlers. This being just one of the many updates we're getting from the Nintendo E3 2007 ...

Nintendo's Wii Zapper and Wii Wheel are great and all, but what's really going to get those casual gamers flocking is this here Wii Fit game and its accompanying controller. A sort of Wii counterpart to Nintendo's brain-sharpening DS thrust, the Wii Balance Board is a Reebok Step look-alike, with dual sensors that can detect your weight and balance on each side as you exercise to the various on-screen Wii activities in Wii Fit. The board is wireless, and holds the potential of full-body games involving the Wiimote and the Wii Balance Board simultaneously. If you've had enough gaming, you can also have the Balance Board diagnose your body mass index. Or not. No word on when these two will launch, or for how much. Plenty of action shots after the break.Continue reading Nintendo Wii Balance Board gets you stepping in upcoming Wii Fit title

QJ.NET reader Toby Lurio has pointed us towards what could be a possible release date for Nintendo's much-awaited Wii title Super Smash Bors. Brawl.
In GameSpot's feature on the most anticipated games for this year's E3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl was tagged with a September 1 release date. While the accuracy of this data is still unconfirmed, it sure is nice to think that we could be able to play the game in a couple of months.
The highly-anticipated 3D fighting game for Nintendo's next gen Wii video game console has not yet been given an official release date. The official Super Smash Bros. Brawl website also still has the game listed for a vague 2007 release, so keep checking back here for more updates.

Here's something new from E3 - a new game about the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler that seems to be geared towards appealing new gamers, as well as answering the occasional fan's "what if?" question of how it'd be like if Spidey teamed up with one of the many awesome bad guys he has wise-cracked and web-slung into submission. Without further adieu, then, here are two video clips of the newly unveiled Spider-Man: Friend or Foe!
The first video's pretty much the E3 2007 trailer of the game, and we're introduced to the concept of Spiderman teaming up with some of his worst enemies - namely Doctor Octopus, The Sandman, Green Goblin, and of course the all-time favorite Venom. It's to note that things look more cartoony this time around, with none of the realistic web-slinging and swinging from the previous movie games. Here's hoping they actually got Spidey's original voice actor from the Amazing SpiderMan animated series, eh?
Next up is the Concept and Characters inte...

We don't have to tell you that we're excited for Samus' upcoming adventure on the Wii. We do have to tell you how excited the latest trailer from E3 makes us feel, though. It's a lot like running from the police in a high speed car chase. You rarely have time to blink and you're so scared of dying from the situation that you wet your pants. August 27th cannot come soon enough!
Check past the break for the live demonstration trailer from Nintendo's keynote.

Electronic Arts has cobbled together a new trailer for MySims, an upcoming title for the Nintendo Wii and DS video game platforms based on Maxis' The Sims series.
The trailer essentially gives players a quick preview of how the gameplay goes in both the Wii and DS version of MySims. Everything from building a house to designing your character in the Wii version is included in the trailer. The DS preview isn't as in-depth, though.

If there was a cartoon that would translate into a good videogame if done properly, it would be Ben 10. It's about a boy named Ben Tennyson and his watch-like contraption called the Omnitrix, which allows him to transform into 10 different creatures, each with their own unique abilities and powers.
So here are six new screenshots for the D3Publisher and High Voltage Software's Ben 10: Protector of Earth for the Wii. Fans of the cartoon series would probably enjoy this game, as it has most of the characters from the TV show. However, those looking to have access to the full gamut of powers the Omnitrix offers might be a bit disappointed since Ben can only transform into five out of the 10 forms that are available to him. The list of the five characters include: Fourarms, Heatblast, Cannonbolt, XLR8, and Wildvine.
Ben 10: Protector of Earth will also be available on the Nintendo DS, PSP and PS2 and is slated to be released this fourth quarter here in t...

Finally, the official trailer of the much-awaited Soul Calibur title for the Wii is out! The third-person hack n' slash adventure game Soul Calibur Legends promises to be the definitive weapon-based action game, and we can clearly see how in this video.
This short video clip demonstrates exactly how the controls are done using the Wii's motion-sensing capabilities. For example, a cross-wise Wiimote movement will have your character swing his/her weapon at the enemies, while moving your Wiimote upwards will make your avatar (be it Siegfried, Ivy, Mitsurugi, Taki, or any of the other playable characters) deliver a devastating uppercut using his weapon of choice.
There are other possible ways of dealing utter devastation to your foes, but they definitely better seen than simply read. Enjoy the video!

An executive with Japan's TBS station (which is Tokyo Broadcasting System, not the Turner one we have over here that shows 400 Friends reruns a day), must have been desperate for someone to receive the buck he was looking to pass.
Apparently there is somewhat of a crisis in the television industry over there right now. He blamed the decline in television viewing on other media: "There are outside factors at work. One is people watching TV on their cell phones where we can't track them, but the really big factor is the time people are spending on the Wii."
If this is true, why haven't Japanese television ratings been down for the last seven years, while the Playstation 2 has been out? After all, there are about 25 million of those over there-- surely someone in Japan thought to play theirs. And what of the 19 million Famicoms? How has television survived?
It's preposterous to think that 2 million Wiis hooked up to...
