In an interview with GameSpot, Scott Steinberg, VP of marketing for Sega of America, said that their bid for the Western market was partly driven with their acquisition of the superheroes franchise from Marvel Entertainment. Earlier, Sega preached that the movie-game adaptation development will improve this time around, and it's anticipated that Sega will be first to bring forth this revelation.
After having previously secured a deal to the Iron Man game, it appears that Sega is also working on the movie-game adaptation of the Hulk, closely linked to the next (yet totally different from "The Incredible Hulk") Hulk movie starring Edward Norton (of "Red Dragon" fame).
It was revealed earlier that Thor and Captain America were also in the planning stages, but Steinberg was able to reveal that the two IPs were already part of the Marvel deal and they are definitely going to come out as separate games, too. However, Steinberg has avoided spilling any details into the deve...

Hey, we've got nothing against LED abundance, or even a bit of translucency here or there to let the light shine through, but we're not sure we're quite ready to relive those heady "design revolution" years of '98-'00, where shiny, see through, iMac-inspired gadgets reigned supreme. At least this I-case Wii mod isn't bondi blue, or we just might have to quit the biz. The good news is Total Console is selling this mod as a kit for a mere $45, so you won't have any more blood on your hands than is already implied.

Sega finally confirmed the other day that a new Puyo Puyo! video game title will be released in Japan this coming July 26. While the series is really a big hit in Japan and Korea, the franchise is not entirely unknown in the U.S market. The puzzler first arrived in North America back in 1991 under the name Puyo Pop.
Anyway, it's needless to say that the new title has been greatly improved as compared to the older ones and their ports. The Wii version of Puyo Puyo! has two modes, "Puyo Puyo Together" and "Remote Controller Puyo Puyo." The former lets two players solve the same puzzle on the same field at the same time while the latter will require the use of a Wiimote per player.
We also know that there's a lot of new things going on for the new title like a rotating playing field but details about those are still rather scarce even up to now. Sega, also, hasn't mentioned if it's going to bring the title in other markets.

When it comes to video game title One Piece: Unlimited Adventure, the screenshots are simply getting better and better every batch. We've already showed you tons of others before but since there are rumors that this title is going to be brought to North America this summer, we thought another batch of screenies wouldn't hurt.
This Wii game was actually developed by Ganbarion and Namco Bandai. It follows the story of the Straw Hat Pirates, their leader Monkey D. Luffy, and their adventures in general. In this latest batch, we see the merry band fighting off various enemies known as the Baroque.
It is said that One Piece: Unlimited Adventure will entail time travel so several of the game's characters will have flashbacks about their tragic past. It became available in Japan just today.

Ken Kutaragi is leaving his fatherly position as CEO of Sony's game division, and replacing him in June will be Kazou Hirai.
Dan Glickerman of the MPAA stated at a recent DRM conference that he not only believes that it's okay for the consumer to rip DVDs for personal use, but that if they are to use DRM it must not constrict the consumer.
Lenovo has been selected to design the 2008 Olympic torch. We suspect what really gave them an edge over the competition was their experience with flaming laptops.
Nintendo reported a nice little boost in overall yearly sales, something to the tune of $8.2 billion or a 90% increase. It's not all sunshines and rainbows though, they missed their sales target for the Wii by 160,000 units.– Ben Longo

Mirror, mirror on the wall, which black high def console is the 1337est of them all? We know some people were bummed that the Xbox 360 didn't get to compete in the 2006 Engadget Awards with the PS3 and Wii (hey, it was launched in 2005!), but now's your chance to square off the two most expensive game consoles around. So who's gonna take it, Sony's piano black PlayStation 3, or Microsoft's matte black Xbox 360 Elite?

If you've just downloaded the Virtual Console version of Punch-Out!! and you're getting ready to start punching the lights out of Bald Bull (who bears a resemblance to Charles Barkley, by the way) on your HDTV, you better read this first.
Various reports from around the Internet have surfaced recently, and all of them are pointing towards some lag problems when the game is played on an HDTV set. The lag is apparently so bad that it has rendered the game "virtually unplayable," as Game Life's Chris Kohler puts it. There's still hope for Punch-Out!!, though, so don't give up just yet.
This is easily remedied if you have a standard-definition television, though. According to GameSpot, only HDTVs have been reported to be messing with the game's precision timing, so just connect your Wii to a standard TV and the lag should be gone. There have also been reports that some HDTV owners aren't having any problems with the game, so it could also depend on the model.

It is already a given that the demand for Nintendo Wii hasn't wavered since its launch. And it's a good thing that we've been hearing about increased supplies in various retail chains across North America. The most recent of which is over at stores EB Games and GameStop this coming Sunday.
Despite these reports, a Nintendo spokesperson admitted that they are still unable to cope with the demand. He added that since January 2007, they have increased the production dramatically. The spokesperson explained,
For the first three months of this year we have been producing one million hardware units per month. We are increasing the manufacturing capacity and forecast to ship 14 million in this fiscal year to our distributors and retail customers globally.
Earlier today, we reported that a total number of 5.48 million units of Wii have been sold across the globe, not to mention 23 million video games sold in just five months. The spokesperson said that the demand i...

Especially this piece of glowing glory, yeah? But it's not just something to marvel at at which to marvel; it's a bit pricey, but the new "I-Case" is available for pre-order at $44.99, scheduled to ship at the beginning of May. Most of the case mods we've seen so far were merely color swaps (though these skins were cool), but if you manage to rig this up properly, be careful, because your former friends might feel inclined to crush your skull with a blunt object and relieve you of your Wii, cackling into the night.
Well, um, that's what we'd do. If ... if we were bad.
