This cutesy game of not-so-cutesy bomb-lobbing, TV-dropping and chick-smashing fun was just recently released by Nintendo for play on the Wii's Internet browser. It may look kiddy, but we assure you, it's a real treat! Wallpapers for download could be won for each level completed, although we're not exactly sure if that's all being offered as prizes for scrambling Poster Bunny's chicks back to wherever they came from.
Your options in Nintendo and extra toxic's Chick Chick Boom are severely limited on the early levels as to how you're going to defeat Poster Bunny's lackeys over on the right side of the battlefield, but the game itself has a lot of humor up its sleeves for random chick termination. Draw a "Weight" on your board (like gestures done in Lionhead's Black & White), and watch everything from a recliner to a TV set to even an elephant that'll squash black chicks to a pulp!

When we last reported on Radical Entertainment's Scarface: The World is Yours for the Nintendo Wii, we mentioned in passing that it would probably be months before the game was released. As an update to that remark, we're reporting that the Nintendo Europe site has just dated Scarface - expect Tony Montana to say hello to Europe's Wiis this July 6, 2007.
Aside from hosting enhanced graphics as compared to its previous release on the PlayStation 2 (PS2) and PSP, Scarface for the Wii will host Wiimote control capability. Players can expect to enjoy emulating their favorite movie moments in game, whether it be waving a chain saw above their heads, or blasting rival gang leaders with a rocket launcher. For the moment, Scarface is listed as a summer 2007 release for North America.

Good news for the non-colorblind. Go Nintendo's just gotten a tip that colored Wiimote controllers for the Wii will be hitting Europe June 29. If this is true—and taking into account that Europe almost always gets things later than everywhere else—it's a possibility that the US and Japan will get colored Wiimotes before the end of June.
Does this mean that colored Wiis may be coming soon as well? It's kind of strange to have colored Wiimotes with a one-color console. But we couldn't dress ourselves correctly until we were 17, so what do we know about matching colors? – Jason Chen

A lot of you folk out there are looking forward to the upcoming Big Brain Academy title set to grace the Wii and, well ... we are too! Upon seeing the site has gone live, we found ourselves poking around the site and checking out various things. Only problem is, we can't understand a single one of these things (aside from the video segments there), what with our complete inability to understand the Japanese language and all. Oh well, we blame our parents ...Read | Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

Embedded software provider eSOL Co. Ltd. is happy to announce that some of its leading middleware products have been selected by Nintendo Company Ltd. to be incorporated in the Wii console. The two products are PrFILE2 FAT file system and PrUSB/Host USB host stack.
You don't care? Well, it's probably because you don't know just yet how this will affect your console in general. The FAT file system software will provide file management functions which read and write data of the SD memory card. The other one, PrUSB, functions to provide the console with USB host capabilities.
eSOL Embedded Products Division Exec. VP Nobuyuki Ueyama is quite ecstatic with the relationship.
I believe that our products were selected because Nintendo highly-valued our long, successful history with many digital consumer products and high-reliability and functionality based on that. We will continue to provide superior products and technical services to strongly support developer...

Apparently Hillary Clinton doesn't approve of Grand Theft Auto. Or maybe it's that PS2 she's getting sick of playing, longing for a PS3, Wii or maybe even an Xbox 360 Elite.
Check out the Photoshopping hilarity in the gallery, taking poor Hillary to places she's definitely never been. WTF was she saying, or looking at? One stolen instant, and now this. The horror! – Charlie White

eSOL, a company that offers engineering solutions for companies that look to outsource that stuff, have just announced that Nintendo is using their "PrFILE2" FAT file system and "PrUSB/Host" USB host stack middleware products. What does this mean for us? Well, it could mean plenty of things.
First of all, each technology allows for a different aspect of the Wii to be utilized. The company's "PrFILE2" file system provides "file management functions which read and write data of theSD memory card, as well as other media." This could mean any number of things; Nintendo could even see eSOL's middleware tech as allowing faster read and write speeds to the SD card slot on the Wii. Nintendo could also have plans for using the file system as apart of a future add-on for the system. Really, speculation is the only thing to reign here.
eSOL's "PrUSB" USB Host stack is where we think this story gets more interesting. In adding their tech for more USB fun...

While the Wiimote is probably exceeding Nintendo's wildest expectations in terms of its popularity among gamers, the little controller that could has also developed quite a following in the modding community -- with the proper scripts, you can control anything from an RC car to a Roomba to a software drum kit. Well now you can add research tool to the Wiimote's list of accomplishments, as scientists at the University of Western Australia have successfully employed it to navigate immersive 3D environments created by a projector and three-meter-diameter dome. By modifying the popular DarwiinRemote OS X app, Paul Bourke and his colleagues at the University of Western Australia found themselves with a cheap tool to fly through space simulations, cruise around a visual representation of supercomputer node activity, and even tour 360 degree VR maps of real world buildings. The team concluded that the Wiimote is a good-but-not-great substitute for the controlle...

Nintendo has launched a new web-based game called Chick Chick Boom. The game itself pits two teams against each other, you with your noble chicks and Poster Bunny with his evil team, as you, in Worms-like fashion, try to take the other team out. You do so by tracing objects, which then manifest themselves in the game and deal out damage. Tracing an anvil might drop a large recliner or TV on your opponent, or you could trace a bomb and, depending on how accurate the trace is, deal out some big damage.
We have yet to give the game a whirl through the Wii's Opera browser, but how about you all?

Okay, so we guess the idea of cuffing the Wiimote to your wrist through handcuffs bought from a sex shop didn't really take off. The whole Wiimote wielding community laments at the still open possibility of losing grip of the motion sensing controller while playing, and hitting the TV with it. Slipping Wiimotes equals broken TVs and broken Wiimotes. What now?
Thankfully, there's the Retractable Wii Sports Cuff For Remote control. Made of neoprene this time and not cold metal anymore, you attach the cuff to the Wiimote and slap it to your wrist. It is retractable up to 13 inches, with an adjustable wrist band, and it's available in black.
Come to think of it, the retractable 13-inch cord could be of help when using the Wiimote as an innovative weapon, ala rodeo cowboy. Haha. The cuff doesn't come in different colors; we'd appreciate a Wii-color scheme. And a bad thing is that the price tag reading US 5.99 is already a discounted price.
