We have a YouTube video today from somebody who goes by the username of iosysred. According to the video notes, he's set up The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to be played using the Wiimote ala The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Iosysred says that this was achieved through the use of "the Wiimote, Project64, GlovePIE, my homemade sensor bar, and a Bluetooth USB dongle." As far as I understand it, he used Project64 to emulate Ocarina of Time and used GlovePIE to emulate the Wiimote's input system and to send that information as keystrokes to Project64. Okay, I'm not that well-versed on the technical aspects of the whole thing but you get my drift.

Anyway, check out the vid below. If you're thinking about doing the same thing, you could take a look at the Ocarina of Time GlovePIE script that we posted about a few weeks ago.

So what do we know about Cooking Mama: Cook Off for the Nintendo Wii? Well, NGC France informs that in Cooking Mama: Cook Off you'll be able to prepare around 300 dishes using your Wiimote. What else? Oh, we also know that 2 players can compete against each other in order to gain better items for their kitchens.

What else? Anything other than gameplay? Well, we do know that the CES lasagna cooking demo was pretty amusing. We also know that the Japanese ads for the game are hilarious. Oh and speaking of Japan, we know that the Japanese release date is set for around February, while the European release date is the 29th of March, and the North American release is on the 12th of March.

Oh never mind.

Okay, okay, I admit, I just tried to blather and at the same time be as informative as I can. I know that Cooking mama disapproves of this and I shall fall prey to her flaming eyes of justice. If I show you new screens, will you forgive me? Here:

As we've previously reported, it looks like Wii owners everywhere may have even more reasons to rejoice, and it's all because of Keiji Inafune. Better known as the creator of Mega Man, Onimusha, and Dead Rising, Inafune has just confirmed with the Japanese gaming blog, Gemaga, that he and Capcom are currently developing an unannounced Wii title.

In fact, he also notes that "He hopes to be able to show it this year".

Even though there are still no specifics regarding the title he's working on, we're getting excited as this just means that a quality game is headed our way. After all, considering the fact that the character Mega Man is now an icon, and Onimusha and Dead Rising just happen to be particularly successful franchises, fans might want to watch out and see what Inafune has got up his sleeve.

He's about to work his magic once again, so we hope that you guys are watching closely.

It's raining deals, it seems. EBGameStop's been demanding sacrifices of the blood of last-gen systems in exchange for PS3s and Wiis on the cheap, and now Tower Records' online store is offering games at 25 off their price. Which games? By the looks of it, whatever they have to sell right now and counting. Here's the important part, though: offer lasts until the 22nd of January.

Yes, we're talking full representation here. Want a new DS game? US 22.49 instead of US 29.99. Decided to finally get that PSP game after months of dilly-dally shilly-shally? Ten dollars off the MSRP - again 25 . And get this: 360 and PS3 titles for US 45.00 - that's under the US 50.00 EA brought some of their titles down to. Even The Burning Crusade's going for 25 off. That's thirty bucks, people.

Here's one very delicious kicker: Lost Planet Collector's Edition for US 52.48 instead of US 69.98! That's even under the regular Lost Planet MSRP! (And it's still in stock, too, ...

You'll have to forgive us for indulging ourselves in a moment of fanboyish wonderment here, but about the only thing we can think of that's better than Bandai's life-sized Gundam replica is that very replica being built from the ground up by Robo-One 10 Championship winners, the Maru family. There isn't any exact parallel here, but we'd vaguely liken this to watching Miyamoto-san assemble a Wii -- except still somehow better, perhaps due to the looks on those childrens' faces that manages to warm even our cold, metallic heart-pump devices. Trust us, your inner-child / fanboy will be sated.

Yesterday in our Dealzmodo, we posted a link to a $40 Circuit City coupon, which could be used on a Wii if they were available this weekend. Then we saw this post on digg: ADVERTISEMENT CORRECTION NOTICE
Circuit City is no longer participating in the AllConnect "Getting You Plugged In" Coupon Offers.
Because an error in production regarding limitations occurred, we had no choice but to expire this offer. We apologize for any convenience or disappointment this may cause you, our valued customer. But the plot thickens within the digg comments (yes, I read comments)...

"Actually this is not Gizmodo's fault. Circuit City just changed the coupon. My boss and I are both looking for Wiis and I told him about it right away. He printed the coupon and then I went back to my desk to print mine. I saw the "excludes video game hardware" blurb and went to show him. He does not have that blurb. Both versions have the same serial number. Good thing we have a photocopy machin...

Wii users had mixed reactions regarding EA's announcement that they currently developing Medal of Honor: Vanguard for the Wii. Some said that it was "just another PS2 port" while some said that they'd be looking forward to the multiplayer options in the game. Despite varied opinions, we think we can all agree that more games mean more choices, so there's no cause for complaints, right?

In case you've been held hostage under the control of terrorist dwarves, here are some of the stuff you might want to know and look forward to in the game:
upgradeable weapons, extensive combat dialogue, cinematic moments, enhanced AI and graphics systemthe Wiimote will be used for aiming and firing, while the Nunchuk's analog stick and two buttons will control player movementsplit-screen multiplayer, with two to four players in deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and King of the Hill.a new multiplayer mode called Scavenger Hunt, where you'll be racing against your enemies to gather the most suppl...

CrunchGear reported that if you live near a Circuit City, then you're in luck. This is because you might have a chance to score a Wii on the cheap. They claimed that all you have to do is visit a website (check our read-link below) for a US 40 off coupon, and head to your local Circuit City on a Sunday so you can snag a Wii.

Unfortunately, The Wii Experience reports that the discount coupon has been changed a bit to add this restrictive statement - "Qualifying purchases exclude gaming hardware, Verizon..." meaning that you cannot use the coupon to purchase a Wii on cheap.

A later update reveals that the coupon has been removed from the site entirely. Oh well. So much for that.

It's a bit disappointing that Circuit City chose to revoke the coupon. They could've taken advantage of the massive influx of Wii-starved shoppers. Although in retrospect, perhaps the potential deluge is the reason why they decided to scrap the coupon altogether.

Balls-of-steel (well not really, but he is gutsy) analyst, Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan Securities, has indicated that he believes that Ubisoft will report earnings that are in line with, or perhaps even above, the previous estimate of 368.7 million.

Jason Dobson of Gamasutra reports that according to data released by the NPD Group, Ubisoft's U. S. retail sales were US$168 million for the quarter. Wedbush comments that the figure is 19 percent higher than the US 141 million reported during the same period the year before.

Due to continued strong sales of the Xbox 360 console, strong launches of several titles for the Wii, and possible increased revenues, Wedbush Morgan maintains its buy rating and a 12-month target price of US 44 for Ubisoft shares.

As of Dobson's report, Ubisoft shares were selling at $36.58.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves will be retailing for AU 79.95 (around US 63) when it hits Australian retail stores on January 25. Hmmm... that's pretty cheap. But this move ain't really surprising, given that Ninty Aussie has been attacked for the price-point of the Wii software.

So, how far exactly will they go to appease the market with their prices?

Vispi Bhopti, Nintendo Australia's PR lead say, "With the Wii and the DS, we're examining demographics to figure out the best price-point with which to expand the market." Meaning to say, this is but the start of the road for these plans of lowering the price.

The other titles which will be experiencing the "roll back", so to speak, are Kororinpa, as well as Wing Island. Both will be retailing with the same price as WarioWare. Excite Truck, however, will come out on February 22 with an almost-hundred dollar price tag.
