So much for Wii's Rayman exclusivity -- Ubisoft quickly shut down the spreading rumor that the new game, Rayman Raving Rabbids, would not debut on any other console until 2007. Supposedly, the game is set to hit "old and next-gen platforms" this year.

Alert the rumor patrol -- our big daddy blog Joystiq stumbled across pictures on the Internet and they may be news. This time it's the (possible) demo kiosks for the Wii. Note that this picture does not feature a widescreen television. If real, this could reflect part of Nintendo's marketing to mainstream consumers rather than just gamers, as mainstream audiences tend to be less likely to have the best and brightest tech. A display like this would give regular folks a good idea of how the Wii could look in their living room.
On the one hand, we think that the best marketing scheme for the Wii is the console itself

Two more videos have surfaced over at IGN's Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam media page. Both were nabbed during Leipzig, with the one video focusing on head-to-head multiplayer, while the other shows off a castle-themed level in some single player action. We here at Wii Fanboy are still on the fence about this game, as we enjoy the open-ended environments of old. Still, should we be looking to pick this up at launch regardless? What do you guys think?

Not only are they now charged with pushing buttons, but must also add in the spectrum of movement with the Wiimote. How does a fast swipe react in-game compared to that of a slow, long swipe? Over at the WikiCharts Top 100 for the month of August, Nintendo's Wii is ranked number 13. Not too bad for the console, managing to be beaten out by only two sexual phrases (this is the internet, after all). With a 27,750 views-a-day average, the Wikipedia entry for the Wii could stand to do better.
Maybe we should seek the aid of one Stephen Colbert?

Clocking in at over nine minutes, this video from the LGC shows a rather extensive runthrough of the Wii build of Madden from some geek at EA Canada. Seriously. We could totally rock that guy.
Most of the essential mechanics are demoed, so if anything is going to convince you to buy this game, this is it. Apparently we now like to embed videos after the break, so view to your heart's content upon clicking the link.

Nintendo is trying a different approach to some early Wii marketing. In major urban areas throughout the country, Nintendo is holding private parties for "ambassadors", whom they have personally selected, and a whole crapload of their friends. We're not sure whether the ambassadors were randomly chosen, but we doubt it. (Where the heck were our invites, Nintendo?) In any case, the ambassadors recently received a mysterious package in their mailboxes. What was inside? A ridiculously hot, super-amazing black DS Lite, as well as a cardboard Wiimote mock-up personally signed by Reggie Fils-Aime himself.
