Lookie what we have here: Wii has jumped on the pages of "National Geographic for Kids". Cool, eh? It seems that this console is making such a buzz that it has transcended the pages of non-gaming magazines.

So, does this mean that the said console can be labelled as a "For-Kids-Only" toy? Definitely not. It even says in article that parents might want to play it, too. Will we see lengthened sleeptime curfews because of this family-friendly console? We'll never know. We do know that this console is marketed to virtually everyone. Even good ol' Pops and Granny looks like they're having tons of fun playing it in the Wii video. Will that happen in real life? That's what Nintendo hopes for. After all, seeing your grandma waiting in line at Gamestop for the Wii doesn't seem that strange, doesn't it?

Hmm... I wonder where a Wii feature will land on next? The Wii is getting more hyped up now that its launch is drawing near. So if you manage to spot it on the pages of "Pl...

In Ubisoft's Tom Clancy: Splinter Cell for the Xbox 360 (and coming soon for the Wii), the Fifth Freedom is a fictional right that entitles agents of the Third Echelon to do whatever is deemed necessary to protect the four cornerstones of American moral thought. Those four cornerstones, in case you're interested to know, are freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from want, and freedom from fear.

In the game, an operative can pretty much do anything including breaking laws and all other means to accomplish his mission and charge it to the Fifth Freedom. Under "all other means" you have assassination, torture, and kidnapping, to name a few.

Now, imagine the Fifth Freedom was packaged and made available to everyone for $59.99! That's what John Badsky's Fifth Freedom is all about. In this hilarious tacky infomercial spoof (click on the Read link below to see it), Badsky offers the Fifth Freedom for $59.99. But wait! There's more. Fifth Freed...

Even if you think the Madden NFL franchise sucks, you should watch this video. Because it is fun. Yeah. There's a big online crowd that says Madden NFL 07 hasn't been innovative enough. And EA took some flak with the bug in the Xbox 360 version. In fact, not everybody in the QJ team is a big EA or Madden fan, but it's interesting how we are all kinda agree that this looks like fun.

Look at how gameplay can be enhanced by the Wii remote (or Wii Remote or Wiimote - depends on what your preferred nickname for it is).

Second, look at the totally unique features in Madden for the Wii. Finally, let's shoot the bull (bullsh@t?) about EA - we have some honest reactions about this one.
Free motion controls. The Nunchuck and Wii remote detect what you're doing. To hike, you snap it back. To throw, you throw it forward (the ball, not the Wiimote, because that would, like, break your TV and stuff). To stiff arm (our favorite part), you move your arm.In-game tutorials and Lear...

In the animated film feature "Open Season", Mother Nature strikes back and turns the usual hunters (that would be our species) into the hunted. It features a cast of woodland animals unlike those we've seen on Disney movies. They don't come and help with the chores while singing their critter hearts out. They're hell bent on protecting their turf.

In the upcoming Wii version of Open Season (already out on the PSP, DS and Xbox 360) Boog the bear and Elliot the mule-deer reprise their roles as Mother Nature's wacky and unlikely defenders caught in the middle of the open hunting season. The multi-platform game has basically the same features. If you haven't played it yet, these are some of the things that will keep you glued to your Wii:
Wild, woolly and wet adventures down white water rapids
A cache "natural" weapons designed to keep hunters at bay
A variety of rowdy woodland pranks to play on unsuspecting victimsOpen Season for Wiistarts November 19. If yo...

A game for the Wii that lets you have all the fun while being at the comfort of your own home - with mini games such as Table Tennis which utilizes the Wiimote in a two-player game of Pong and a fishing game, it's primary aim is to familiarize the players with the Wii remote. Pose Mii is also one of the games included in Wii Play which allows a user to manipulate his Mii avatar and place him in the same exact position and location as that of the bubbles.

Wii Play is one of the games that Nintendo created in fulfillment of their goal to deliver Wii as a "family-friendly" console. And why not? Besides from the colorful visuals, one of the mini-games' feature is simple controls that could be seen in the point-and-click shooting game aptly called Shooting. Some of the mini-games also allow several users to play simultaneously which is so much fun than playing alone.
Wii Play features nine mini-games which the whole family can enjoy especially this holiday seasons as the...

Japanese analyst and magazine publisher Enterbrain recently put out sales forecasts for the Xbox 360 and, more importantly, the Wii. Reporting their prediction that the Wii will sell 5.75 million units by the end of March 2007, they predict the console will still fall short of its competitors in the long run of the console wars. By the end of 2009, Enterbrain predicts that the PS3's sales will reach 34 million, with the Xbox 360 hitting 28 million and Wii selling 25 million.

Since Wii was first announced, Nintendo has always admitted that they are not focusing on hardcore gamers. They never hid their intention of luring the remaining market, make that remaining "half" of the market - women. Their recent ad campaign - The Wii Experience - has been nothing but a testament to that.

Today at Amazon U.K., we came across two more revelations that add to the company's claim. Sports titles Tennis Masters and Leaderboard Golf appear to be both heading its way to the console. Both games are from System 3 Software (formerly known as Studio 3). It's a London-based developer best known for The Last Ninja series as well as Commodore 64 and Amiga titles.

Amazon's preorder offers for Tennis Masters and Leaderboard Golf stand at 24.99 Euros or just around US $31. The titles will be released next year by March 30.

Even though all the consoles generally have a few killer games, the real meat is in the console exclusives. It's the reason people buy a specific console. It happened in the past generations, and it will keep on happening. While it might be frustrating to people who don't have that specific console, that's just the way it works. And we wouldn't have to think for more than a second to remember a few of them on each console. The Xbox and Xbox 360 have had the magic of Halo, while the PlayStation, among other games, has had GTA as an exclusive (until the PS2), and when we talk about Nintendo consoles, we can never forget Mario and his friends.

We're sure everyone will be curious to know what are the exclusives for each next-gen console. Thankfully, the guys over at Siliconera have prepared a huge list of all the exclusives for each console. Firstly, here's a small list for each console. These are just some of the first-party exclusives which will be developed/published by Microso...

Senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications for Nintendo of America, George Harrison, took a minute to answer IGN's question on the public Wii demonstration units. The goal of these kiosks at retail stores is to accord to customers a taste of the Wii experience.

"The retailers will either receive a pre-built, self-contained interactive, including a TV, game console and controllers, while others will receive the game console and controllers and will set up an interactive Wii experience using their own TV." Also given consideration is the design of in-store displays, which is meant to exhibit the Wii's unique games and deliver entertainment to consumers, while still fitting in a retail environment. The controllers will be wireless, and as such, they are also requesting the stores' staff to be at hand to assist consumers in trying out the console.

Of course, since the objective is to let consumers have a pleasurable experience with this upcoming hot ...

In this video demonstration of Madden 07 for the Wii, the developers showcase some of the title's unique controls and new tutorial features. Aimed at introducing those who might not be particularly familiar with the pigskin to the sport, the video does a much better job of providing an accurate portrayal of the experience through action rather than the diagrams seen in the past.

As always, the video is embedded into the post after the break.
